Newborn Basics Class
Preparing to welcome a new life to the world can feel extremely overwhelming. There is so much to learn and it can feel as if everyone has different ideas and opinions on what is “best”.
In my 1 on 1 (or 2! I always encourage partners and/or support people to join as it can be helpful for all who are involved in baby’s care.) in home class, I am able to share my knowledge and experience, while also fielding any and all questions as you have them.
This class can be done all at once, or split into two sessions. We cover topics such as:
Types of birth & Birth Preferences
Interventions & how they relate to breastfeeding
Collecting Colostrum before and immediately post birth
First Latch/Pumping in the initial postpartum hours
Positioning
Breastmilk storage guidelines and proper formula preparation
Newborn Basics (Swaddling, safe sleep, baby cues, baby wearing, car seat safety, normal vs. concerning behaviors, and more!
